Solar recharging of EVs is more efficient use of land than ethanol crops for blended fuel in India: Report
Generating solar energy to recharge electric vehicle (EV) batteries would be a far more efficient use of land than growing crops for ethanol, according to a new report of Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA).
Notably, India has set a target of 20% ethanol blending in petrol by 2025. This will require doubling of ethanol from sugar and quadrupling of ethanol from grains in just four years, the report claimed.
