Solar panels atop Patna’s government buildings reduce power bills
PATNA: Several government buildings in the city, including divisional commissioner’s office, have cut down energy bill by 70-80% after installation of solar panels last month.
“Solar panels have not just cut down the power bill, but have also set an example to store and consume renewable sources of energy,” said Patna divisional commissioner Sanjay Kumar Agarwal.
He added, “The solar panel atop divisional commissioner’s office is capable of producing 45 kilowatt of electricity. Even though there weren’t many sunny days after the installation of solar panel in mid-December, there has been a major reduction as far as energy bill is concerned. This month’s electricity consumption at the office was 950 units, of which 800 units were covered by solar panels.”
