Software snag hits IOC’s LPG booking system but no need to panic

NEW DELHI: IndianOil’s LPG booking and delivery platform managed by tech giant IBM has been hit for the last two days by a software snag but the country’s largest fuel retailer said alternative methods were in place and supplies were being maintained through the manual mode.
Senior company executives told TOI the issue will be resolved by Tuesday night and there was no need to panic. “We delivered 18 lakh refills on Monday and deliveries would be on an equal scale on Tuesday,” one executive said requesting anonymity.
The snag developed during routine data recovery operations at the backup server in Bengaluru. “An error appeared during data transfer. We have switched to manual mode and are confident of resolving the issue by Tuesday night,” the executive said.
