Skyway plan may scrape Cantt coffers

Secunderabad: Officials from Cantonment Board are grappling to generate revenue from taxpayers, while the new elevated skyway plans, are throwing a wrench into their plans.

The skyways, one connecting Parade Grounds and Hakimpet, and the other between Paradise and Suchitra, are causing concern for commercial properties. The SCB earns 60% of its revenue from property tax on the two skyway routes. Nearly 110 properties will lose land due to road widening requirements of the skyways.
