SKS Power’s dormant plant restarts operations under NTPC
Mumbai: Chhattisgarh-based SKS Power Generation has become the first dormant power plant to start operations following a directive by the central government. State-owned National Thermal Power Corp (NTPC) has been tasked with operating and maintaining the plant until lead lender Bank of Baroda (BoB) finds a buyer, three people familiar with the development said.
The company is undergoing a corporate insolvency and resolution process (CIRP) since April 2022 and owes lenders led by BoB a total of ₹1,890 crore.
