Signal glitch: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation removes train driver

NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has removed a train operator from service after an inquiry into the signalling glitch that paralysed operations on a large section of the Yellow Line (Samaypur Badli-HUDA City Centre) on Tuesday, sources said.

The incident occurred just at the time when services were going to begin and the train didn’t have any passengers. The glitch occurred near a point where trains can cross over from one track to another, but DMRC said in a statement that the train didn’t move to the parallel track when the technical glitch occurred.

“In the incident that occurred on September 12 near Ghitorni, the train stopped as the technical issue surfaced, co-incidentally falling near the cross-over zone from where the up and down movement of the trains is also regulated as and when needed,” DMRC said in a statement.
