Sify Data Centers partners with Vibrant Energy for over 200MW green power project

Pune: Sify Technologies will source 231 megawatt (MW) of solar and wind energy from Vibrant Energy Holdings to power its latest hyperscale data centres.
The company said on Wednesday that it had entered into power purchase agreements with Vibrant Energy for the same.
Out of this, it said a PPA for 67 MW solar power was signed in March 2021 and has recently been commissioned.
The companies will jointly invest about Rs 1,250 crore for the 231 MW through a special purpose vehicle. This will be commissioned over the next few years.
“We are expanding our renewable energy footprint for our existing data centres in Mumbai and two greenfield projects that are coming up,” M P Vijay Kumar, chief financial officer, Sify Technologies, told ET.
