Severe turbulence hits Mumbai-Kolkata Vistara flight, 8 injured

As many as eight passengers were injured on a Vistara flight from Mumbai to Kolkata on Monday, which encountered severe turbulence 15 minutes before landing. Of the eight, while five suffered only minor injuries, three were taken to the hospital.

“Three passengers after review at airport medical facility were taken to hospital. One passenger has been discharged while other two are under going X-ray diagnostic for any bone related injury,” sources in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.

They added that while one of the passengers, a 61-year-old, received fracture in her right hand, another, aged 77, suffered spinal tenderness injury. The third passenger, aged 36, received minor cut on forehead and was released after being administered first-aid.
