Second England lockdown: Vistara cuts Delhi-London flights from four to thrice weekly for November

NEW DELHI: With travel expected to take fresh blows during the four-week-long lockdown announced by England starting Thursday, Vistara has temporarily decided to reduce the frequency of its Delhi-London flight this month from four times a week to three.
Vistara currently flies four times to Heathrow and had earlier planned to increase the frequency to five from November 21 and then make it a daily flight from December 1. However, with England going in for a strict lockdown from November 5 to December 2 to check the surge Covid virus — with restrictions like a ban all leisure travel within the UK and overseas — those plans have been tweaked.
A Vistara spokesperson said: “In view of reduced demand amidst the second countrywide lockdown in the UK, we have made temporary, ad-hoc changes to our schedule of flights to and from London Heathrow between November 9 and December 1, 2020. During this period, Vistara will operate thrice a week between Delhi and London on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Passengers with affected bookings are being contacted and provided various options.”
