With Punjab on Friday reporting 20 coronavirus positive cases having source of infection from other states, the state Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu asserted that there was a need to reduce the domestic flights especially from Mumbai and Ahmedabad where higher numbers of Covid-19 cases have been reported to contain the spread of contagion in the State.
“Most of the cases reported in Punjab are having the travelling history from other States and countries. So as to prevent the community spread level, there is a need to put focus on passengers, especially coming from high risk states and countries,” said Sidhu while presiding over the Department’s review meeting.
The Minister said that he would discuss this key issue with the Chief Minister in the Cabinet Meeting to be held on Saturday.
