Sanvordem railway station gets pathway to connect platforms
MARGAO: Following complaints by local train commuters of hardships faced by them in crossing tracks to get to the newly constructed platform at Sanvordem railway station, the South Western Railway (SWR) has now constructed a pathway connecting the new platform to the main station building.
Railway officials said that the pathway would ease commuters’ hardships to some extent until better solutions are worked out.
TOI, in its edition dated October 22, had pointed out how, in the absence of a ramp for the foot overbridge at the railway station, commuters preferred to cross the tracks to using the foot overbridge, thereby risking their lives.
