RTI activist flags LED streetlight project in Amritsar
An RTI activist alleged embezzlement in LED streetlights installed by the Amritsar Municipal Corporation under the Smart City project.
Jagdish Singh, RTI activist, filed a complaint with various departments, including technical adviser to Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
“LED streetlights installed under the Smart City project are not up to the mark. I received information through the RTI that streetlights were not passed from technical adviser to the Chief Minister. Moreover, LED lights are not branded and thier price is high. I have written to the technical adviser and he has initiated the investigation in this regard, said Jagdish.
