The Housing and Urban Development Department of the Government of Odisha has accorded in-principle approval for a long pending proposal for a road project at a cost of Rs 28, 40, 35,000.
The construction and widening of the road from Diamond Tank junction to Mango market had been left incomplete for last five years. The repeated demand of the public to complete the work of the crucial road went unheeded causing serious discontentment among the local public of Ward No. 12 and 14.
Sources said that due to delay in execution of the work and poor workmanship of the concerned contractor, Rs 20 crore was refunded to ODRP and the work was kept in abeyance since then.
