Rs 1461-cr Smart Road & Buses project to be implemented in Doon
The Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) had submitted an initial proposal to the Department of Economic Affairs for development of best in class transport road public transport infrastructure in Dehradun and Mussoorie. This Rs 1461 crore project comprising 80 per cent (Rs 1168.87 crore) external grant has been included in the smart road and public transport project.
According to official sources, the total cost of the road will be Rs 1,368 crore while 100 electric buses will be operated at a cost of Rs 123 crore under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) mode.
The total length of the smart road will be 61.10 kilometres which will comprise of 11 stretches. These 11 stretches of smart road will have lights, drainage, multiutility ducts and other facilities.
