Roll back power tariff hike: Cong

Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati demanded rollback of th hike in electricity tariff in the State Assembly on Tuesday.

Bahinipati said the increase of 30 paise per unit would be a burden on the people, who are already feeling traumatised because of the Covid pandemic.“I don’t know whether the decision has been taken with the Energy Minister’s knowledge, but I urge the Chief Minister to withdraw the hike as no other State has taken such a drastic decision,” Bahinipati stated.

He further added that since the Tata company has taken over power distribution, the people are feeling the pinch of overburden of electricity rate.
