Road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari calls for new road speed policy

MUMBAI: Amid increased public discussion over the menace of speeding following the Cyrus Mistry crash, the government will set up a group with representatives from the Centre and states to come up with the policy on the maximum speed limit on different types of roads and new norms for vehicle horns, reports Dipak Dash.

Road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari recently told state transport ministers that both the central and state governments have jurisdiction over the speed limit on different roads.
