Road collapses after landslide in mining area

Rampant illegal mining across the Central Coalfield Limited areas of Giridih district has again caused a severe landslide. However, no casualty has been reported so far. The site of occurrence comes under the jurisdiction of the Giridih Muffasil police station.

The Baniyadih-Kabriabad main road near Chilga village of Giridih Colliery, collapsed on Wednesday morning. Over 15 – 20 feet of the road has sunk down from the ground level. Besides, almost 125 square feet areas, close to the site of collapse, are under severe influence with multiple rifts and breakage. The incident has disrupted movement of vehicles or other modes of transportations across the locality. This is the second such incident over the past 20 days in the Kabribad area.
