Road case: HC says BBMP action amounts to contempt

Bengaluru: BBMP has sought a week’s time for issuing notification for acquisition of some portions of land belonging to a complainant in Pattandur Agrahara village of KR Puram. This followed the high court’s observation that efforts to form a road without acquiring the complainant’s land, as per earlier directions/assurances, amount to contempt.

The management of an educational institution had filed a civil contempt petition against Gaurav Gupta, chief commissioner of BBMP, and C Shashidhara, AEE of Mahadevapura, alleging violation of earlier orders and undertaking given to the court.
