Rlys land can be leased for up to 35 yrs, licence fee slashed

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday allowed up to 35 years of lease for railway land and slashed the annual licence fee to 1.5% of the market value for the first year from the current 6%, as part of a railway land policy overhaul to facilitate projects under the PM Gati Shakti programme.

The move is expected to help set up 300 cargo terminals and generate 1,25,000 jobs.
