Renewable Energy Policy: Karnataka Energy Minister to hold stakeholders’ meet on Wednesday
Karnataka’s energy minister V Sunil Kumar will hold a detailed consultation with renewable energy sector stakeholders and other potential investors as part of the state’s preparations to roll out a renewable energy policy. The policy, like other policies, will be in force for five years.
The proposed policy has raised expectations among investors as Karnataka has set a target to add 10 GW additional installed capacity of renewable energy over the next five years. The new policy seeks to align with prime minister Narendra Modi’s push towards stepping up use of renewable energy at the recently held COP26 Summit in Glasgow.
