Relief for renewable power developers: Tamil Nadu distribution company ordered to pay dues

In a major relief for renewable power developers in the country, the Appellate Tribunal For Electricity (APTEL) has ordered the Tamil Nadu’s state-owned distribution company to pay their dues after curtailing the power generation.

According to industry sources, this could lead to a payout of “hundreds of crores, if not more” to leading solar and wind companies generating power in the state such as Adani Green, Tata Power NSE 0.89 %, Shapoorji Pallonji, and Greenko Group.
