Rajnath inaugurates rail overbridge in Bangla Bazaar

Defence Minister and local MP Rajnath Singh inaugurated the rail overbridge in Bangla Bazaar on Friday and said it would ease traffic congestion in the area.

“This is the seventh overbridge that has been inaugurated. These flyovers and RoBs have benefitted people of the city to a large extent,” Singh told people here on Friday.

This RoB is four-lane wide and 1180.90 metres long. The total cost is Rs 122 crore, of which the cost of the part above the railway line is about Rs 12 crore. The RoB is built over the Alamnagar-Utrathia railway line.

“Traffic is starting on this bridge from today. People can enjoy hassle-free ride,” Singh said, adding that it would prove to be a convenient route for people coming from Old Jail Road and going to Shaheed Path, Ambedkar University,
