Rain throws a spanner in KMC’s road repair works across city
KOLKATA: The KMC roads department is finding it difficult to conduct a major road repair drive across the city due to consistent rain. It had set an October 3 deadline to complete the repair drive.
The civic body’s roads wing has identified 450 stretches of the city’s major roads and lanes which need to be repaired in three weeks. According to a KMC roads department official the civic body needs a dry spell to start the repair process.
“We have started the drive in smaller roads and lanes. But we need at least a 72-hour dry spell to wrap up repair of large stretches of a major thoroughfare.
