Railways to roll out sleeper coaches of Vande Bharat

With the “success” of the current lot of fully air-conditioned Vande Bharat Express Trains, the Indian Railways has now decided to roll them out with sleeper coaches also to make it much affordable for the common man.

The latest version of the indigenous trains with sleeper coaches will be operational by the first quarter of 2024 and work on few routes to run the popular trains has started.

A senior railway official expressed confidence that the current set of Vande Bharat trains have already completed a running of eight lakh kilometers which is enough to prove success of ‘Make in India’ product of train. Before new indigenous model goes to the world market to compete with China’s rolling stock capacity and capability,
