Railways records higher equipment failures in Q1

Indian Railways recorded a steep rise in equipment failures during the first quarter of the current financial year.

According to official data, the number of breakdowns in overhead equipment (OHE) and signalling equipment, as well as instances of wagon and coach detachments, train parting and hot axle were higher during the April-June quarter compared with a year earlier.
