Railway approves plan to attract unconventional traffic

The centre has offered concessional rates to attract unconventional traffic on the Indian Railways network. These trials are meant for making the roll on roll off (Ro-Ro) or Trucks on Train (ToT) service more lucrative. According to officials in the know, the movement of trucks on the New Palanpur and New Rewari Section of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), roughly 640 kilometres, has been permitted under the new rates.
