Punjab DCs directed to complete land acquisition process ‘immediately’ for expressways

Punjab Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua, reviewing the ongoing projects of the National Highways Authority (NHAI) in the State on Friday, directed all the Deputy Commissioners to complete the land acquisition process immediately to ensure construction of expressways within the stipulated time.

The Chief Secretary said that the state’s farmers would get Rs 15,000 crore as compensation and roads worth Rs 40,000 crore will be constructed across the State.

Holding a meeting with the NHAI chairman Alka Upadhyay and the Deputy Commissioners of all districts, Janjua said that under the supervision of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Government is committed to complete the national projects on time in the State.
