Punjab CM Channi lays foundation stone of Bela-Paniyali bridge over river Satluj
Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Saturday laid the foundation stone Bela-Paniyali to come up over river Satluj at a cost of Rs 114 crore at Sri Chamkaur Sahib.
The Chief Minister said that it is a moment of great pride and satisfaction for him as this bridge will open new vistas of progress for the residents of the area, pointing out that this will bring industry in the region, giving a major push to economic growth.
Channi said that with the construction of this bridge the distance between Doaba region and Chandigarh will reduce by 20-25 kilometres.
Channi said that along with this 12 meter wide and 1188 meter long bridge, another 42 meter bridge over Bist Doab river will be constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
