Punjab begins renegotiation of solar PPAs

Punjab has become the latest state to negotiate signed renewable energy contacts asking suppliers to lower tariffs, ahead of polls early next year.

According to sources the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) held discussions with nearly 4-5 companies on Friday supplying about 1,000-Mw green power to the state. Adani Power, Azure Power, and Acme Solar are among companies supplying green electricity to the state.
