PSPCL employee caught taking bribe

A team of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (EOW), Ludhiana, today arrested a PSPCL employee red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for the transfer of a power connection.

Surendra Lamba, Senior Superintendent of Police, Vigilance (EOW), said the suspect, identified as Paramjit Singh, posted as Revenue Assistant (RA), PSPCL, Lakhowal, Kohara office, was arrested on a complaint of a Lakhowal resident. The complainant alleged that Paramjit was demanding Rs 50,000 to transfer the power connection of a tube well in his name. It was earlier in the name of his father.
