Protesting farmers block NH-9 at Ghazipur border
The farmers at Ghazipur border (UP Gate) on Saturday blocked National Highway (NH)-9 to mark their protest against the Centre’s new farm laws. In the last two days, the number of farmers at UP Gate has increased by thousands and day by day more farmers from Uttrakhand and western Uttar Pradesh are arriving at protest site.
Protesting farmers blocked both the carriageways of National Highway which led to diversion of several routes. In view of the protest, police in Ghaziabad and Delhi side had to impose barricading to stop movement of vehicles.
According to farmers, a large number of farmers are coming from UP and Uttarakhand to join the movement, but these farmers are being prevented from coming, due to which there is a growing anger among the protesters.
