The Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has emerged as a transformative initiative by the Government of India to enhance rural connectivity through all-weather roads. Initially launched as PMGSY-I, it targeted providing single-road connectivity to eligible unconnected habitations within the core network. Building on its success, subsequent interventions like PMGSY-II, Road Connectivity Project for Left Wing Extremism Areas (RCPLWEA), and PMGSY-III were incorporated, focusing on upgrading rural roads, constructing vital roroadads in Left Wing Extremism-affected regions, and strengthening major rural links.
