Power theft: ₹72K collected in fine from 12

Chennai: Tangedco collected about 72,000 in fine after detecting 12 illegal electricity connections in Porur.
Chennai enforcement division squads came across the illegal connections as they conducted raids in the Chennai South-I distribution circle.
The offenders were initially fined 10.65 lakh. However, since they admitted their offence, a sum of only 72,000 in total was collected.
