Power tariff hike steepest in decade
BENGALURU: With peak summer almost upon us, the rising mercury isn’t going to be the only marker for the discomfort index moving northwards.
Already reeling under a sharp rise in the prices of essential commodities, households across Karnataka will now need some further belt-tightening to do with a 70 paise-per-unit hike in domestic power tariffs – the steepest in the last one decade.
The revised tariff structure is now all set to raise monthly electricity bills by at least Rs 150 to Rs 200 for a family of four or five.
