Power restored for 15.8L consumers in Bulbul-hit dists
With joint efforts of field officers and the staff of the Power Distribution Companies (Discoms), 15.8 lakh consumers have been restored with electricity connections in cyclone Bulbul affected areas, a senior official of Department of Energy said.
Energy Secretary Bishnupada Sethi reviewed the status of restoration of power on November 12 with officials here. The severe cyclonic storm Bulbul crossed the coastal districts on November 9 morning, causing damage to electrical infrastructure.
According to official sources, at least 16 lakh consumers were affected by cyclone Bulbul in Kendrapara, Jagatisinghpur, Bhadrakh, Baleswar, Jajpur and Keonjhar districts.
Power disruption issue was taken on a priority basis by the authorities and all field officers and office staff of Cesu and Nesco worked day and night in the restoration work.
