Power plants achieve goal of prescribed fuel stock of 22 days
Kolkata: Coal-fired power plants achieved the prescribed level of fuel stock of 22 days last week after a gap of three and half years.
The combined stock at pitheads and power plants is almost 88 million tonnes, the highest ever.
Central Electricity Authority (CEA), which has stipulated a minimum 22-days coal stocks at power plants, calculates daily coal requirement on the basis of the last seven days’ average fuel consumption by power generators.
