Power Ministry asks states to prioritise vaccination for power sector employees

The Centre has written to states asking them to prioritise vaccination of power sector employees to ensure there is no disruption in electricity supply.

A senior official in the centre said the infection rate in Centre-controlled PSUs and organisations is nearly 5% during the second wave of the pandemic but more severe in metros like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Lucknow. The power ministry administered CPSUs are likely to tie up with private hospital chains for mass staff vaccination at centres where infection spread is high, he said.
