Power Minister RK Singh meets companies, banks to restart 5 GW units

Union power minister RK Singh on Monday held meetings with lenders, state government officials and power project developers that could help restart nearly 5 GW of non-operational plants within a month.

“Barring one or two plants which are not feasible to run as they have been shut down for 5-6 years and will take about one year time to revive, a clear roadmap for all other plants has been decided,” a senior official said. “The plants are targeted to become operational within a month.”
