Power Min asks Gencos to import up to 6% of required coal till Sep
The power ministry has directed generation companies to import coal for blending up to 6% of their requirement till September 2023 to cover any shortages in the local supply of the fuel.
The ministry has also issued directions to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Punjab as well as NTPC Ltd to source 10-15% of their domestic coal requirement through rail-ship-rail mode.
