Power Grid plans public InvIT to raise Rs 10k cr

Mumbai: Power GridNSE -1.64 % Corp has decided to launch an Infrastructure Investment Trust (InViT) through which India’s central transmission utility proposes to raise from the public about Rs 10,000 crore by listing specific units backed by a pool of assets.

The company is set to seek this week the approval of capital-markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on registering a relevant trust for the issuance, two people with direct knowledge of the matter told ET. The issue is likely to open for subscription before the end of FY20.
