Power employees to boycott work today
To protest against the privatisation of the power distribution, 15 lakh power employees across the country will boycott work on Wednesday.
The demands of the power employees include restoration of the state electricity boards and old pension for the state employees.
Convener of the Power Employee’s Coordination Committee, Uttar Pradesh, Shailendra Dubey, said here on Tuesday that the power employees would organise protest meetings at major power installations across the state. He said a meeting would also be held at Shakti Bhawan in Lucknow. He added that the employees of power generation plants, power transmission and system operations would not take part in work boycott.
