Power employees go on strike against unbundling of dept

Thousands of Power Development Department (PDD) employees started their 72-hour-strike from Tuesday in protest against the plan of the state administration to unbundle and reorganise the department.

Under the banner of the Power Employees Coordination Committee (PECC), employees staged protests in each division to express their resentment against the “unilateral move of the government to operationalise the corporatisation and unbundling of the department” without involving employees who were major stakeholders after the abrogation of Article 370.
