Power disconnection fear haunts D’nal locals

Whereas most of the people in the State have not yet recovered completely from financial crisis which they had to face due to the Corona pandemic, regretfully the officials of the electricity department are snapping connections of consumers without giving them a patient hearing. The only ground shown is non clearance of arrear.

An activist representing consumers’ forum here alleged that private companies like ENZEN and TATA Power are going harsh on the consumers while collecting electricity bills.

Reportedly, most arrears are only the penalties imposed on the consumers during ENZEN period even though most of them were not the wilful defaulters.
