Power cuts in Baleswar add to lockdown woes

Amidst lockdown the residents while are forced to be indoors, frequent unscheduled power cuts by the Nesco had proved to be adding to their woes as mercury was soaring and day temperature had been hovering around 40 degree Celsius.

Frequent power cuts, for unknown reasons, are not only experienced in the urban patches, they are also in the rural areas. The residents are facing untold woes as the supply is erratic and at time the cut period is about an hour.

The poor, especially the infants and elderly people, having no other means of electricity supply, are the worst sufferers.
