Power cuts causing major loss to business: FJCCI
The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) has raised concerns over the frequent power cuts in the State, claiming that the business fraternity had to not only pay more for arranging alternatives for power generation but also incur losses as diesel-run generators reduced productivity.
The Chairperson of FJCCI, Deepak Maroo on Monday said that the federation has already met all the top officials of the State and sought better power supply. However, the entire state is still hit by intermittent power supply, which is affecting the business fraternity the most, he added.
“The cost for per unit of electricity supplied to us is Rs 6. This amount skyrockets to Rs 25 for each unit if the power is generated through diesel-run machines. So, technically we are paying four times the price,” Maroo said.
