PM Modi announces launch of India-US climate Agenda 2030

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced the launch of an ‘India-US climate and clean energy Agenda 2030’ partnership to address climate change. Modi made the announcement at the Leaders’ Summit on Climate, hosted by US President Joe Biden in the run up to global climate meet, COP 26, scheduled in Glasgow in November.

“President Biden and I are launching the India US clean energy agenda to mobilise investment, demonstrate clean technologies and enable green collaboration,” Modi said in his address at the two virtual summit addressed by 40 global leaders and heads of state.

The announcement of an Indo-US collaboration came days after US Special climate envoy John Kerry’s India visit where he called on the PM to drive through a strong climate action plan.
