PM Gati Shakti a transformative approach for economic growth, sustainable development: FM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Budget speech on Tuesday said PM Gati Shakti Master plan will be driven by seven engines for growth and transformation.

The Rs 100-lakh crore project primarily focuses on developing “holistic infrastructure” with inclusive development, productivity enhancement, energy transmission, climate action and financing of investment.

“The approach is driven by seven engines, namely Roads, Railways, Airports, Ports, Mass Transport, Waterways and Logistics Infrastructure. All seven engines will pull forward the economy in unison. These engines are supported by the complementary roles of Energy Transmission, IT Communication, Bulk Water and Sewerage and Social Infrastructure,” she said.
