NEW DELHI: Here are the plane truths about Elections 2019 — BJP’s hired fleet of aircraft and helicopters is the highest ever in Indian poll campaign history, Congress is flying a somewhat distant second in terms of wings hired, and most others are way behind.
People familiar with the business told ET that BJP has hired a fleet 20 helicopters and 12 business jets. In contrast, Congress has hired 10 helicopters and 4 business jets. These people spoke off record.
Hiring wings is a high-cost business. And BJP has opted for the more expensive options.
