Pilots involved in SpiceJet excursion at Mumbai suspended for a year
NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has suspended the licence of both SpiceJet pilots involved in a runway excursion incident at Mumbai airport early this month.
“The licence of both SpiceJet pilots involved in runway overshoot incident at Mumbai airport for one year. The commander of the flight will also have to go for a corrective training and fly as co-pilot for a period of 300 hours,” said a DGCA source, who did not want to be identified.
The source further said that both pilots continued unstabilised approach with high speed… Pilots floated for longer time and landed after consuming half the runway 27 leading to the excursion.
