Petrol prices in Delhi surge over Rs 30 per litre since April last year

Petrol prices in Delhi have surged nearly Rs 32 since April last year to an all-time high now, while the diesel prices have risen nearly Rs 24.5 in the same period. Petrol prices have already crossed the Rs 100-mark across the country.

Petrol was at Rs 69.59 a litre at the start of last fiscal year on April 1, 2020 in Delhi and it ended the fiscal year at Rs 90.56 a litre on March 31 this year, registering a surge of 30.13 per cent in the entire fiscal year. Continuing its rising trend, the petrol prices have already risen Rs 10.63 a litre in Delhi in three and half months of the current fiscal from a level of Rs 90.56 a litre on April 1 to Rs 101.19 on July 14 in Delhi.
